Accredited Family Law Specialist
Maguire Barnes Family Lawyers is a small boutique practice that specialises in Family Law.
Stephen, our Principal, is an Accredited Specialist with an excess of 30 years experience who is ably supported by his Law Clerk, Michelle and Receptionist Katherine.
I could at this point, detail the extensive experience contained in our practice, however I would prefer to tell you something about myself and my staff.
I practiced in the regional Queensland for 15 years becoming an equity partner at age 26 with the firm Payne Butler & Lang.When I joined, it was over 100 years old.
In that practice, I was involved with an array of legal issues finally specialising in family law in 1999.
I moved to Brisbane in 2001 and practiced as a specialist in Family Law in a partnership at Strathpine where I developed a significant family law section.
I commenced as a Sole Practitioner on the 1st July 2014.
Michelle has been my Law Clerk since I started as a Sole Practitioner and has been involved with Family Law for 15 years. Michelle has an enormous amount of experience in this area and is able to assist clients when I am not available.
Katherine who is also my step-daughter, is our Receptionist and smiles when she answers the phone. She has a wonderful way with clients and a wicked sense of humour. When she is not supporting my practice, she is studying at the Australian Catholic University.
Our practice is cloud based which means that any one of our staff is able to work away from the office which allows them to be with their family which is a very important aspect of all our lives.
We value our family and understand how difficult a separation can be. We know that our clients feel that they are “going through a very dark tunnel” but we have gone through that tunnel literally thousands of times, so we are confidant that we can meet all challenges when they arise.
