One of the advantages of technology is that it gives flexibility to my clients and me. Going to Court is a phrase most people do not want to hear. Their greatest fear (apart from a cranky Judge) is the cost.
I am a bit different from a lot of other solicitors as when I go to Court for a client there is usually a lot of ‘sitting around’ waiting for a Judge costing clients money.
For example, I was in Court only a few days ago when the Judge had to deal with more than 30 matters. Needless to say, there was definitely a lot of waiting around. Because my Practice is in the cloud, rather than being idle while waiting for the Judge to deal with my client’s matter, I was able to do other work. This meant that the client whom I was appearing for, and he didn’t mind waiting outside my office until the Judge was ready to proceed, I was able to stop charging him and attend to other people’s affairs.
This had an enormous savings for my client.
I think I am unique in approaching a day in Court that way.
By doing this, I can save clients very significant money but still offer the service they need when facing the Court room.
